Peter James George, was a Canadian economist and university administrator. On June 30, 2010, he retired after serving three five year terms as President and Vice-Chancellor of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

André Tosel was a French Marxist philosopher and academic administrator. He taught Philosophy at the University of Franche-Comté and Pantheon-Sorbonne University until he became a full professor of philosophy at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis. He served as its vice president from 1992 to 1998, and as the director of its Center for the History of Ideas from 1998 to 2003. He was the author of several books about Marxism and Marxist theorists.

Eldar Kaisynovich Kuliev was a Russian Soviet film director and screenwriter. He was born in Frunze to Kaisyn Kuliev, an acclaimed Balkar poet and Maka, his Ingush wife, during the deportation of the Balkars to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. His younger brother Alim Kouliev is a Russian-American actor living and working in Hollywood. His youngest brother Azamat Kuliev is a Russian painter living and working in Istanbul, Turkey.

Spanish supercentenarians are citizens, residents or emigrants from Spain who have attained or surpassed 110 years of age. As of January 2015, the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) had validated the longevity claims of 45 Spanish supercentenarians, including 42 residents and 3 emigrants. More supercentenarians were identified by other studies and by news reports. The oldest Spanish person ever was Ana María Vela Rubio who died on 15 December 2017, aged 116 years and 47 days. As of 13 February 2021, the oldest known living person in Spain is Mexican emigrant, Maria Brañas Morera aged 113 years, 346 days. The oldest living man in Spain is Saturnino de la Fuente García, aged 112 years, 5 days. De la Fuente García became the world's oldest known living man following the death of Dumitru Comănescu of Romania on 27 June 2020.

Emma Mashinini was a South African trade unionist and political leader. Living in Johannesburg, her family was forcibly displaced several times during her childhood. She started working at age 14 and soon became a union organiser at her garment factory. She became active with the African National Congress (ANC) in 1956. Mashinini served for 12 years on the executive board of the National Union of Clothing Workers (NUCW) and founded the South African Commercial, Catering and Allied Workers Union (SACCAWU) in 1975. She was arrested and detained without charges for six months in 1981–82.

René Ballet was a French journalist, novelist and essayist. A communist, he was an international correspondent for L’Humanité. He was the author of 14 novels and 35 essays, many of which were about Roger Vailland.

Évelyne Sullerot was a French feminist. She was the author of many feminist books.

Eugene T. Gendlin was an American philosopher who developed ways of thinking about and working with living process, the bodily felt sense and the "philosophy of the implicit". Though he had no degree in the field of psychology, his advanced study with Carl Rogers, his longtime practice of psychotherapy and his extensive writings in the field of psychology have made him perhaps better known in that field than in philosophy. He studied under Carl Rogers, the founder of client-centered therapy, at the University of Chicago and received his PhD in philosophy in 1958. Gendlin's theories impacted Rogers' own beliefs and played a role in Rogers' view of psychotherapy. From 1958 to 1963 Gendlin was Research Director at the Wisconsin Psychiatric Institute of the University of Wisconsin. He served as an associate professor in the departments of Philosophy and Comparative Human Development at the University of Chicago from 1964 until 1995.
