Alagiri, is an Indian politician from Tamil Nadu and was a Union Cabinet Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers from 13 June 2009 to 20 March 2013. He is the first son of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. Karunanidhi and his second wife Dayalu Ammal and the head of South Zone of Dravida Munnetra Kazagham.

Dr.M. Manikandan is an Indian politician and a member of the AIADMK from the state of Tamil Nadu. Manikandan is a first-term member of the 15thTamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. He was elected from Ramanathapuram constituency of Ramanathapuram District. In June 2016 Manikandan was inducted into the Jayalalitha led government of Tamil Nadu as a state minister with Independent Charge. Manikandan holds the Information Technology Department portfolio in the Government of Tamil Nadu. At age 39, Manikandan is the second youngest minister to be sworn into the Tamil Nadu Cabinet.On 7 August 2019 he was relieved from his post after his controversial speech about another minister Mr Udumalai Radhakrishnan.

Malleshappa Madivalappa Kalburgi, commonly known as M. M. Kalburgi, was an Indian scholar of Vachana sahitya in the Kannada-language and academic who served as the vice-chancellor of Kannada University in Hampi. A noted epigraphist of Kannada, he was awarded the National Sahitya Akademi Award in 2006 for Marga 4, a collection of his research articles.

Michael Stanley Whittingham is a British-American chemist. He is currently a professor of chemistry and director of both the Institute for Materials Research and the Materials Science and Engineering program at Binghamton University, State University of New York. He also serves as director of the Northeastern Center for Chemical Energy Storage (NECCES) of the U.S. Department of Energy at Binghamton. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2019 alongside Akira Yoshino and John B. Goodenough.
