Rafael Campos was an actor from the Dominican Republic whose credits include Blackboard Jungle (1955), Dino (1957), The Light in the Forest (1958), Slumber Party '57 (1976), The Astro-Zombies (1968), Centennial (1978) and V (1983). He was also, for a brief period of time, married to the blues singer and pianist Dinah Washington.

Svein Rosseland was a Norwegian astrophysicist and a pioneer in the field of theoretical astrophysics.

William Cumming Rose was an American biochemist and nutritionist. He discovered the amino acid threonine, and his research determined the necessity for essential amino acids in diet and the minimum daily requirements of all amino acids for optimal growth.

Joseph Maria Pernicone was an American clergyman of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of New York from 1954 to 1978.

Joseph Buloff was a Russian Empire-born American actor and director known for his work in Broadway and Yiddish theatre. He received the Itzik Manger Prize for contributions to Yiddish letters in 1974.

Aimé Dossche was a Belgian racing cyclist, who won two stages in the 1926 Tour de France and one stage in the 1929 Tour de France, and as a result wore the yellow jersey for three days., although some sources indicate that two of those days he joined the lead with Aime Déolet, Marcel Bidot and Maurice Dewaele. Dossche was born in Landegem and died in Ghent.

Paul Edwin Roth (1918–1985) was a German stage, television and film actor. Roth made his screen debut in the rubble film And the Heavens Above Us (1947). He was a regular in West Germany films and television during the post-war years. He was also a notable voice actor, dubbing a number of international stars for the German market.
