Arno Gunther Motulsky was a professor of medical genetics and genome sciences at the University of Washington. Through his research, writing and mentoring, he helped create and define the field of medical genetics. He is also known as the "father of pharmacogenomics" based on his report in 1957 of negative drug responses in some patients depending upon their genetics at critical enzymes.^[2]

Horst Mittelstaedt was a German biologist and cybernetician. Together with Erich von Holst he demonstrated the "Reafference Principle" in 1950 concerning how an organism is able to separate reafferent (self-generated) sensory stimuli from exafferent sensory stimuli. This concept largely dealt with interactive processes between the central nervous system and its periphery.

Joseph Bishop Keller was an American mathematician who specialized in applied mathematics. He was best known for his work on the "geometrical theory of diffraction" (GTD).

After 22 years in exile he returned to become the Democratic Progressive Party's first presidential candidate in Taiwan's first direct presidential election in 1996.

Sergey Gerasimovich Mikaelyan was a Soviet film director and winner of the USSR State Prize (1976). He directed ten films between 1965 and 1986. His 1983 film Vlyublyon po sobstvennomu zhelaniyu was entered into the 33rd Berlin International Film Festival.
