William Wright was an American politician who served as 5th Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, represented New Jersey's 5th congressional district as a Whig in the United States House of Representatives from 1843 to 1847, and represented New Jersey in the United States Senate as a Democrat from 1853 to 1859, and again from 1863 until his death.

Jean de La Chapelle was a French writer and dramatist. He was born at Bourges, France, was elected to the Académie française in 1688, and died in Paris.

William Merritt Chase was an American painter, known as an exponent of Impressionism and as a teacher. He is also responsible for establishing the Chase School, which later would become Parsons School of Design.

Hsueh Hsuan-yi is a Taiwanese badminton player. In 2014 he participated at the Asian Games. In 2009, he became the runner-up at the U.S. Open tournament, defeated by Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia in the final round. In 2011, he won the Dutch Open tournament after beating his compatriot Chou Tien-chen. In 2013, he became the runner-up at the Macau Open tournament.
