George Nicholls Jr., also known as George Nichols Jr., was an American director and editor during the 1930s. Born to show business parents, and son of prolific actor and director George Nichols, he entered the film industry at the tail end of the silent film era, working as an editor for the Paramount Famous Lasky Corporation. After moving to RKO Pictures in 1933, Nicholls shortly began directing films by the end of the year. His career was cut short when he died in a car accident while driving to the location of his final film.

Tetsuo Shinohara is a Japanese film director. His film First Love was the 3rd Best Film at the 22nd Yokohama Film Festival.

Sergio Arau, also known as "El Uyuyuy", is a Mexican musician, singer-songwriter, screenwriter, film director, film producer, music producer, cartoonist, animator and painter. He is the son of film director Alfonso Arau.

Klaus Maeck is a German film producer. He is perhaps best remembered for his West German cyberpunk cult classic Decoder. His films have often played at the Berlin Film Festival. Prior to creating Decoder, he was a music and culture journalist in Hamburg, covering the advent of the industrial music scene in the city. His film "The Edge of Heaven" won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Screenplay.

Timothy Bond is a Canadian theatre and television director and screenwriter. He holds a BSc and a BA both earned in 1965 from Carleton University Ottawa. Apprenticed as assistant director, Stratford Shakespearean Festival (Canada) under Michael Langham and John Hirsch. He has directed dozens of stage productions, mostly in Canada, but also in the US and England. He has directed at least 100 television episodes and several dozen television movies.

Her films were greatly inspired by François Truffaut and other members of the New Wave movement. Her 1985 film Red Kiss was entered into the 36th Berlin International Film Festival, where Charlotte Valandrey won the Silver Bear for Best Actress.

Paul Dalio is an American screenwriter, director and composer. His first film, Touched with Fire, inspired by his struggles overcoming bipolar disorder, premiered at SXSW and was released theatrically in February 2016.
