Sir James Arnold Stacey Cleminson was a prominent British soldier and businessman, was decorated for his service during the Battle of Arnhem after fighting in the North African Campaign and escaping while a prisoner of war in the Italian Campaign during the Second World War. He subsequently became chief executive, and then chairman, of Reckitt & Colman. Active from that period in the Confederation of British Industry, he became its president in 1984.

Edmund George Valpy Knox, was a poet and satirist who wrote under the pseudonym Evoe. He was editor of Punch 1932–1949, having been a regular contributor in verse and prose for many years.

Louis Joxe was a French statesman, judge and politician. He was born in Bourg-la-Reine, Hauts-de-Seine.
