Agathiyan is an Indian film director. He is credited to be the first director of Tamil cinema to win the National Film Award for Best Direction. He was also awarded National Film Award for Best Screenplay in 1996 for the Tamil film Kadhal Kottai.

Tom Reece was an English professional player of English billiards. He was six times runner-up in the professional billiards championship, now regarded as the world championship, losing three times to Melbourne Inman in finals from 1912 to 1914, and three times to Tom Newman in the 1921, 1924 and 1925 finals. He made the unofficial world's highest billiards break of 499,135 in 1907 using a cradle cannon technique shortly before it was banned from the sport. In 1927, his prowess with the pendulum stroke led to that also being banned from use in competition.

Juan Vicente Gómez Chacón was a Venezuelan military general and de facto ruler of Venezuela from 1908 until his death in 1935. He was president on three occasions during this time, ruling through puppet governments in between.

Florence Maud Broadhurst was an Australian painter and wallpaper and fabrics designer as well as a businesswoman. She was murdered in the Sydney suburb of Paddington, New South Wales and the perpetrator has not been apprehended.

Banharn Silpa-archa was a Thai politician. He was the Prime Minister of Thailand from 1995 to 1996. Banharn made a fortune in the construction business before he became a Member of Parliament representing his home province of Suphan Buri. He held different cabinet posts in several governments. In 1994, he became the leader of the Thai Nation Party. In 2008, the party was dissolved by the Constitutional Court and Banharn was banned from politics for five years.

Archduke Karl Ludwig Joseph Maria of Austria was the younger brother of Franz Joseph I of Austria (1830–1916), the father of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria (1863–1914), whose assassination ignited World War I, and grandfather of the last emperor, Charles I.
