Fernando de los Ríos Urruti was a Spanish professor of Political Law and Socialist politician who was in turn Minister of Justice, Minister of Education and Foreign Minister between 1931 and 1933 in the early years of the Second Spanish Republic. During the Spanish Civil War (1936–39) he was Spanish Ambassador to France and then to the United States.

Emily Clara Rios is an American actress and model. She is best known for her role as Andrea Cantillo on the AMC series Breaking Bad. In 2013 she began portraying newspaper reporter Adriana Mendez on the FX series The Bridge. She also appeared as Lucía Villanueva in the FX drama Snowfall.

Eugenio Montero Ríos was a leading member of the Spanish Liberal Party before being part of a 1903 schism that divided it. He also served briefly as Prime Minister of Spain. He played a role in the 1898 Treaty of Paris that ended the Spanish–American War as he was then President of the Senate of Spain.

David Roberto Bárcena Ríos was a Mexican equestrian who competed at five Olympic Games. He competed in the Modern Pentathlon at the 1964 and 1968 Olympics and in Eventing at the 1972, 1976 and 1980 Olympics. At his fifth Olympics, he won bronze in the Team Event.

Juan Antonio Ríos Morales was a Chilean political figure. He was President of Chile from 1942 to 1946, during the height of World War II. He died in office.
