Abdul Baqi Jammoh, also known as Jammu, was a Jordanian politician. He served in both houses of the Parliament of Jordan, several times as a member of the House of Deputies and as member of the Senate between 1997 and 2001. During his time in the Senate Jammoh was part of the Islamist faction. Jammoh was member of the cabinet twice. He first served as Minister of state for parliamentary affairs between 1989 and 1991. His second position was that of Minister of state for legal and parliamentary affairs between 1994 and 1995. Jammoh was born in Zarqa.

Maria Eugénia Varela Gomes (1925-2016) was a campaigner against the authoritarian Estado Novo government in Portugal in the 20th century. She was twice held in prison. Her work with the poor and to assist political prisoners led to her becoming known as “mother courage”.

Liu Wan-lai was a Japanese–Chinese translator active in Taiwan during the martial law period (1949–1987). He translated genre literature, hobby literature, and manga series including Galaxy Express 999 and Space Battleship Yamato. The popularity of his translations led to him being described as "a legend" and "a literary demigod".

Zelimkhan Yaqub was an Azerbaijani poet. He served as a deputy of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan from 1995 to 2005. He was also named the national poet of Azerbaijan in 2005. He was born in Bolnisi Municipality, Georgian SSR, Soviet Union.

Edhi Sunarso, born Sunarso, was an Indonesian sculptor and public artist known for numerous well-known monuments and landmarks found throughout Jakarta, including the Selamat Datang Monument and Dirgantara statue, also called the Pancoran Monument, in Pancoran, South Jakarta. He taught sculpture at Yogyakarta State University and the Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Yogyakarta.
