Lucien Neuwirth was a French politician first elected to the French National Assembly in 1958. His namesake, the Neuwirth Law legalized birth control in France on 28 December 1967.

Lin Chieh-liang was a Taiwanese physician, nephrologist and toxicologist. He was a longtime public health advocate and adviser to the Department of Health of the Republic of China, well known for his public response to national health scares.

Sakine Cansız was one of the co-founders of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). A Kurdish activist in the 1980s, she was arrested and tortured by Turkish police. A close associate of Abdullah Öcalan and a senior member of the PKK, she was shot dead during the triple murder of Kurdish activists in Paris, France, on 9 January 2013, along with two other female Kurdish activists, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Söylemez.

A. Rafiq was a prominent Jakarta-based dangdut artist. He was active in the Indonesian music industry from the 1970s onwards. He launched his first single, "Pandangan Pertama" in 1978. The single was a huge hit and propelled his career in the Indonesian '70s dangdut scene. Rafiq, along with Rhoma Irama and Elvy Sukaesih were the three most popular dangdut singer in the '70s. Rafiq is well known for his Elvis-inspired stage costume and hip-gyrating movements.
