Yoshinori Watanabe was a yakuza, the fifth kumicho of the Yamaguchi-gumi, Japan's largest yakuza organization. He became kumicho in 1989. He was known for a more low-key approach than his predecessors, partly due to an anti-gang law passed in 1992. He retired in 2005.

Anatoly Yuryevich Ravikovich was a Soviet and Russian actor. He graduated from the Saint Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy in 1958 and started to work at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur drama theater. In 1962 Ravikovich returned to Leningrad and started to work at the Saint Petersburg Lensoviet Theatre. In 1982 he appeared in Mikhail Kozakov's comedy film The Pokrovsky Gate. He was named a People's Artist of Russia in 1988. Anatoly Ravikovich died on April 8, 2012 in Saint Petersburg. He is survived by his wife Irina Mazurkevich, also a People's Artist of Russia.

Chaleo Yoovidhya was a Thai businessman and investor. He was the originator of Krating Daeng (กระทิงแดง) and was co-creator of the Red Bull brands of energy drinks. At the time of his death in 2012 at the age of 88, he was listed as the third-richest person in Thailand, with an estimated net worth of US$5 billion.

Geoffrey Hughes DL was an English actor. Hughes provided the voice of Paul McCartney in the animated film Yellow Submarine (1968), and rose to fame for portraying much-loved bin man Eddie Yeats in the long-running British soap opera Coronation Street from 1974 to 1983, making a return to the show in 1987. He is well known for playing loveable slob Onslow in the British sitcom Keeping Up Appearances (1990–1995); and 'Twiggy' in the sitcom The Royle Family, playing the part from 1998 to 2000, and reprising his role for the specials in 2006 and 2008.

Internationally known for his work with Muhammad Ali (1960–1981), he also worked with 15 other world boxing champions, including Sugar Ray Leonard, José Nápoles, George Foreman, George Scott, Jimmy Ellis, Carmen Basilio, Luis Manuel Rodríguez, and Willie Pastrano.
