Liffa Gregoriussen
Liffa Gregoriussen née Arge (1904–1992) was a Faroese fashion designer, shopkeeper and feminist. While running her own Tórshavn business in hats and corsets for 50 years, in 1952 she became a co-founder and one of the most active members of the Tórshavn Women's Association, working in particular for collaboration with women's organizations in the other Nordic countries. She is also remembered for taking part in the city's first fashion show. Aged 69, after several young models had presented their attire, Gregoriussen became the star of the event as she appeared in an attractive black corset, black stockings, a festive hat and with a rose in her hand.

George Adams
George Rufus Adams was an American jazz musician who played tenor saxophone, flute and bass clarinet. He is best known for his work with Charles Mingus, Gil Evans, Roy Haynes and in the quartet he co-led with pianist Don Pullen, featuring bassist Cameron Brown and drummer Dannie Richmond. He was also known for his idiosyncratic singing.

Sven Selånger
Sven Selånger was a Swedish Nordic skier. He competed at the 1928, 1932 and 1936 Olympics in the Nordic combined and ski jumping events and won a silver in the jumping in 1936. In 1932 he finished fourth in the jumping and fifth in the Nordic combined. He was the Swedish Olympic flag bearer in 1932 and 1936.
