Paolo Borsellino was an Italian judge and prosecuting magistrate. From his office in the Palace of Justice in Palermo, Sicily, he spent most of his professional life trying to overthrow the power of the Sicilian Mafia. After a long and distinguished career, culminating in the Maxi Trial in 1986–1987, on 19 July 1992, Borsellino was killed by a car bomb in Via D'Amelio, near his mother's house in Palermo.

Otto Šimánek was a Czech actor. Šimánek worked at the Prague City Theater. He also taught mime at the Prague Conservatory. He became internationally known through the role of the silent wizard Pan Tau.

Paula Frías Allende was the daughter of Chilean-American author, Isabel Allende Llona. Her grandfather was first cousin to Salvador Allende, President of Chile from 1970 to 1973.

Kiwako Taichi was a Japanese film actress. She appeared in 20 films between 1967 and 1985.

Friedrich August von Hayek, often referred to by his initials F. A. Hayek, was an Austrian-British economist and philosopher who is best known for his defence of classical liberalism. Hayek shared the 1974 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences with Gunnar Myrdal for his "pioneering work in the theory of money and economic fluctuations and [...] penetrating analysis of the interdependence of economic, social and institutional phenomena". His account of how changing prices communicate information that helps individuals co-ordinate their plans is widely regarded as an important achievement in economics, leading to his Nobel Prize.

Rupert Georg von Trapp, M.D. was the firstborn child and eldest son of Georg von Trapp and his first wife, Agathe Whitehead von Trapp. He was a member of the Trapp Family Singers, whose lives were the inspiration for the play and film The Sound of Music. He was portrayed as the character Friedrich.

Antonio Cosentino was an Italian sailor. Cosentino was born in Naples. He won the bronze medal in dragon class at the 1960 Summer Olympics.

John Milton Cage Jr. was an American composer, music theorist, artist, and philosopher. A pioneer of indeterminacy in music, electroacoustic music, and non-standard use of musical instruments, Cage was one of the leading figures of the post-war avant-garde. Critics have lauded him as one of the most influential composers of the 20th century. He was also instrumental in the development of modern dance, mostly through his association with choreographer Merce Cunningham, who was also Cage's romantic partner for most of their lives.
