Kaarlo Johan Jalmari "Kalle" Anttila was a Finnish wrestler. He won Olympic gold medals in the freestyle lightweight category in 1920 and in the Greco-Roman featherweight division in 1924. He also won world titles in the Greco-Roman featherweight in 1921 and 1922. Anttila was the Finnish champion in Greco-Roman wrestling in 1918–20 and 1929 and in freestyle wrestling in 1924 and 1929. He was born and raised in Finland In 1887, immigrated to Canada at the age of 4 where he was raised to work hard on a family farm. He died in 1954 and was buried in Sudbury.

Ralph W. Brinton (1895–1975) was a British art director. He was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Art Direction for the film Tom Jones.

Robert Emmet Quinn was an American attorney and politician from Rhode Island. He served as the 58th Governor of Rhode Island and Judge for the Rhode Island Superior Court.

Louis V. Arco was an Austrian-born actor who was born Lutz Altschul in Baden, Austria-Hungary, about 5 miles south of Vienna.

Hans Olden (1892–1975) was an Austrian stage and film actor. Olden appeared in more than eighty films during his career, mostly in Austria but occasionally also in Germany. He was a supporter of the Austrian Nazi Party, his interest in Nazism pre-dating the Anchluss by some years. After the Second World War Olden appeared in a number of Heimat films.

Shelton Brooks was a Canadian-born African American composer of popular music and jazz. He wrote some of the biggest hits of the first third of the 20th century.
