Edwin Harold Smith was an American diver who competed at the 1928 and 1932 Summer Olympics. In 1928 he finished fourth in the 3 m springboard. Four years later he won the gold medal in the 10 m platform and a silver in the 3 m springboard. Domestically he won the AAU springboard titles in the 1 m in 1928 and 1930 and in the 3 m in 1930 and 1931. After the 1932 Olympics he became a professional show diver, and a diving coach at New York Athletic Club and Yale University. He also prepared the German diving team to the 1936 Summer Olympics. During World War II he served as a captain in the U.S. Navy, and after that worked as a pool manager at luxury hotels in Palm Springs and Santa Barbara.

Karl Wazulek was an Austrian speed skater who competed in the 1936 Winter Olympics. He finished sixth in the 1500 metres competition, eighth in the 5000 metres event, eleventh in the 10000 metres competition, and 13th in the 500 metres event.

Walter Freitag was a German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and member of the German Bundestag.

Robert Baberske was a German cinematographer. Although he worked briefly in Britain, Baberske spent most of his career in the German film industry. Baberske began as an assistant to Karl Freund. He became a prominent film technician during the silent era, and later during the Nazi years. Following the Second World War, he lived and worked in East Germany on a number of propaganda films for the state-controlled DEFA studio.

James Patton "Jack" King was an American animator and short film director best known for his work at Walt Disney Productions.

Paul Leo was a German Lutheran pastor and theologian. Of Jewish heritage, he advocated for endangered Jews during the Nazi era. After a brief imprisonment in Buchenwald concentration camp during November and December 1938, he emigrated to the United States in 1939. At the time of his death, he was a professor of Greek and New Testament at Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa.
