Raymond Pierre Paul Westerling was a Dutch military officer of the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army. He orchestrated a contraguerrilla in Sulawesi during the Indonesian National Revolution after World War II and participated in a coup attempt against the Indonesian government in January 1950, a month after the official transfer of sovereignty. Both actions were denounced as war crimes by the Indonesian authorities.

Sanghamitra Mohanty was an Indian computer scientist. She had a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in physics. She worked as a lecturer, reader and professor in computer science at Utkal University from 1986 to 2011. She was born in Cuttack, Odisha.

Ahmed Hassan al-Bakr was the fourth President of Iraq, from 17 July 1968 to 16 July 1979. He was a leading member of the revolutionary Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party and later the Baghdad-based Ba'ath Party and its regional organisation Ba'ath Party – Iraq Region, which espoused Ba'athism, a mix of Arab nationalism and Arab socialism.

Miriam Battista was an American actress known principally for her early career as a child star in silent films. After gaining notice in Broadway theatre at the age of four, she was cast in films the same year. Her most famous appearance was in the 1920 film Humoresque in which she played a little girl on crutches. As an adult, Battista acted in Italian-language films in the 1930s, and she appeared in Broadway productions. She wrote, sang, composed music, and co-hosted a television talk show with her second husband.

Neil Aylmer Kennedy-Cochran-Patrick-Hunter was a British sailor. He won a silver medal in the 5.5 metre class at the 1956 Summer Olympics.

Rita Macedo was a Mexican actress who performed during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. She was nominated for an Ariel Award for her 1956 performance in "Ensayo de un crimen" and in 1991 for a TVyNovelas Prize for "Alcanzar una estrella". She won the Best Actress Ariel Award in 1972 for "Tú, yo, y nosotros". She was married to a pioneer of Mexican radio, television and film, Luis de Llano Palmer, by whom she had two children, Julissa, an actress and musician, and Luis de Llano Macedo, renowned telenovela producer. She also was instrumental in bringing many works of international writers to the Mexican stage.

Danièle Hoffman-Rispal was a member of the National Assembly of France. She represented the city of Paris, and was a member of the parliamentary group Socialist, Republican, and Citizen Group (SRC). She died on 16 April 2020, aged 68.

Luciano Leggio was an Italian criminal and leading figure of the Sicilian Mafia. He was the head of the Corleonesi, the Mafia faction that originated in the town of Corleone. He is universally known with the surname Liggio, a result of a misspelling in court documents in the 1960s.

Dieter Mathoi was an Austrian architect. With two colleagues, as the firm Heinz & Mathoi & Streli in Innsbruck, he worked for 35 years, building private homes in the alpine landscape of Tyrol, schools, offices and public buildings, among others. He opened his own office in 2008 and was known for prison buildings and for designing the controversial Kaufhaus Tyrol in Innsbruck with David Chipperfield.
