A member of the Scottish National Party (SNP), she has served as Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Perthshire South and Kinross-shire since 2011, having previously represented Perth from 1999 to 2011. She was formerly Member of Parliament (MP) for Perth and Kinross from 1995 to 1997 then for Perth 1997 to 2001.

Jan Langedijk
Jan Langedijk was a Dutch speed skater who competed at the 1936 and 1948 Winter Olympics. In 1936 he finished 24th in the 500 m, 14th in the 1500 m, fourth in the 5000 m and sixth in the 10,000 m event. Twelve years later he placed 29th in the 500 m, 13th in the 1500 m, fifth in the 5000 m and sixth in the 10,000 m events. Domestically he won the Dutch allround titles in 1940 and 1947.

He also played the role of Donald Shellhammer in Miracle on 34th Street (1994), appeared in Brideshead Revisited as Lord Brideshead, and as King George V in the film Downton Abbey.
