James Ludovic Lindsay, 26th Earl of Crawford and 9th Earl of Balcarres, FRS, FRAS, KT was a British astronomer, politician, ornithologist, bibliophile and philatelist. A member of the Royal Society, Crawford was elected president of the Royal Astronomical Society in 1878. He was a prominent Freemason, having been initiated into Isaac Newton University Lodge at the University of Cambridge in 1866.

Anna Gonzaga was an Italian French noblewoman and salonist. The youngest daughter of Charles Gonzaga, Duke of Mantua and Montferrat, and Catherine de Mayenne, Anna was "Princess Palatine" as the wife of Edward of the Palatinate, a grandson of King James I of England and uncle to King George I of Great Britain. She bore Edward three children, all daughters. Had Anna not converted Edward to Catholicism, the English throne might have passed to their descendants.

Sybille de Baugé, Lady of Bâgé (1255–1294), was the daughter of Guy I Damas de Baugé, Baron of Couzan (c.1230-1269) and Dauphine de Lavieu. She was a Countess Consort of Savoy, being married to Amadeus V, Count of Savoy in 1272.

Xavier Marie Joseph, Duke of Aqutaine was a French prince of the House of Bourbon. He was the third surviving child and eldest son of Louis, Dauphin of France and Maria Josepha of Saxony, and was thus the oldest brother to the future kings Louis XVI, Louis XVIII and Charles X. He was given the courtesy title of Duke of Aquitaine upon birth and during the five months he lived he was second in line to the throne of France after his elder brother Louis Joseph, Duke of Burgundy. He died after an epileptic fit and was buried in the Saint Denis Basilica. Since he and his brother predeceased their father and grandfather, the throne of France ultimately passed to their younger brother Louis Auguste.

Louis de Rouvroy, duc de Saint-Simon, GE, was a French soldier, diplomat and memoirist. He was born in Paris at the Hôtel Selvois, 6 rue Taranne. The family's ducal peerage (duché-pairie), granted in 1635 to his father Claude de Rouvroy (1608–1693), served as both perspective and theme in Saint-Simon's life and writings. He was the second and last Duke of Saint-Simon.
