Anatoliy Volodymyrovych Skorokhod was a Soviet and Ukrainian mathematician.

Mieczysław Czechowicz was a Polish actor. A graduate of Warsaw's State Theatrical Academy, Czechowicz played in numerous films, plays and cabarets. He worked for the National Theatre as well as other Warsaw theatres. In 1987 he was awarded the Polonia Restituta. As a movie actor, he played in such productions, as Janosik, Czterej Pancerni i Pies, Lalka, The Tin Drum, and comedies by Stanisław Bareja. Czechowicz's voice is known by almost all kids in Poland, as he voiced the friendly teddy bear in a popular cartoon Miś Uszatek.

Éva Novák-Gerard was a swimmer from Hungary, and the younger sister of Ilona Novák, who was also a famous swimmer for her native country. She won three medals at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, after a bronze four years earlier in London.

Erwin Hymer was a German businessman, and the founder of the motorhome manufacturer Hymer. In 2000 he received Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Syun-Ichi Akasofu is the founding director of the International Arctic Research Center of the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), serving in that position from the center's establishment in 1998 until January 2007. Previously he had been director of the university's Geophysical Institute from 1986.

Garbis Zakaryan, was a Turkish and European welterweight boxing champion of Armenian ethnicity. He was the first Turkish professional boxer. He was nicknamed "Demir Yumruk".

Paul Richard "Richie" Ginther was a racecar driver from the United States. During a varied career, the 1965 Mexican Grand Prix saw Ginther take Honda's first Grand Prix victory, a victory which would also prove to be Ginther's only win in Formula One. Ginther competed in 54 World Championship Formula One Grand Prix races and numerous other non-Championship F1 events.
