Herbert Hardesty was an American musician who played tenor saxophone and trumpet. He is best known for his association with the New Orleans pianist Fats Domino and the producer Dave Bartholomew, beginning in 1948. He released six 45-rpm records as Herb Hardesty between 1959 and 1962. His first CD of these recordings, together with others made but not issued in 1958, were released worldwide in July 2012 by Ace Records as The Domino Effect.

Pierre Guillaume was an officer of the French Navy. He took part in the Algiers putsch of 1961 and in the Organisation armée secrète right- wing terrorist group, which opposed what it regarded as De Gaulle's treacherous abandonment of Algeria to the FLN terrorists.

José Napoleón Duarte Fuentes was a Salvadoran politician who served as President of El Salvador from June 1, 1984 to June 1, 1989. He was mayor of San Salvador before running for president in 1972. He lost, but the election is widely viewed as fraudulent. Following a counter-coup in 1979, Duarte led the subsequent civil-military Junta from 1980 to 1982. He was then elected president in 1984, defeating ARENA party leader Roberto D'Aubuisson.

Shigeru Sugishita is a former Japanese professional baseball pitcher and coach. Renowned for his forkball, Sugishita dominated the Central League from 1950–1955, winning more than 30 games twice, and garnering three Eiji Sawamura Awards. Sugishita usually split his time between starting games and pitching in relief. He played 11 seasons, ten of them for the Chunichi/Nagoya Dragons.

Marilyn Buferd was crowned Miss America in 1946 after being crowned Miss California. She appeared in several minor films in the 1950s as well as several foreign language films, including Touchez pas au grisbi opposite Jean Gabin (1954).
