Sir Gifford Wheaton Grey Fox, 2nd Baronet was a British politician. He served as a Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) from 1932 to 1950.

Andor Ajtay (1903–1975) was a Hungarian Kossuth Prize-winning (1954) actor.

Fred Niblo Jr. was a successful American screenwriter. He received an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay nomination for the film The Criminal Code (1931) with Seton I. Miller. Niblo retired from films in 1950 to become a businessman.

Leopold Leonidovich Averbakh (1903–1937) was the head of the Russian Association of Proletarian Writers (RAPP) in the 1920s, and the most prominent member of a group of communist literary critics who argued that the Bolshevik revolution, carried out in 1917 in the name of Russia's industrial working class, should be followed by a cultural revolution in which 'bourgeois' literature would be supplanted by literature written by and for the proletariat. Averbakh was a powerful figure in Russian cultural circles until Joseph Stalin ordered RAPP to cease its activities, in 1932.

Leonid Kinskey was a Russian-German-American film and television actor who enjoyed a long career. Kinskey is best known for his role as Sascha in the film Casablanca (1942). His last name was sometimes spelled Kinsky.

James Thomas "Cool Papa" Bell was an American center fielder in Negro league baseball from 1922 to 1946. He is considered to have been one of the fastest men ever to play the game. Stories demonstrating Bell's speed are still widely circulated. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974. He ranked 66th on a list of the greatest baseball players published by The Sporting News in 1999.

Pablo Muñoz Vega was an Ecuadorian Roman Catholic prelate and cardinal and professed member from the Jesuits who served as the Archbishop of Quito from 1967 until his resignation in 1985.
