From 2007 to 2008, he was Chief Representative of Republic of China to the United States as the head of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Washington, D.C., having been appointed to that position by President Chen Shui-bian to succeed his predecessor, David Lee. On 26 February 2018, he took over the position of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, again succeeding David Lee.

Georges Auguste Escoffier was a French chef, restaurateur and culinary writer who popularized and updated traditional French cooking methods. Much of Escoffier's technique was based on that of Marie-Antoine Carême, one of the codifiers of French haute cuisine; Escoffier's achievement was to simplify and modernize Carême's elaborate and ornate style. In particular, he codified the recipes for the five mother sauces. Referred to by the French press as roi des cuisiniers et cuisinier des rois, Escoffier was a preeminent figure in London and Paris during the 1890s and the early part of the 20th century.

Avani Lekhara is an Indian Paralympian and rifle shooter. She won a gold medal in 10m air rifle standing at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. Lekhara is currently World No 5 in Women's 10m Air Rifle standing SH1 and has competed in the 2018 Asian Para Games.
