Jean Alavoine was a French professional cyclist, who won 17 stages in the Tour de France - only eight riders have won more stages - and wore the yellow jersey for five days.

Dame Jean Mary Monica Maxwell-Scott, DCVO was the Laird and Chatelaine of Abbotsford which she and her elder sister, Patricia Maxwell-Scott, opened to the public, restored to its former glory, and ran for nearly five decades. She was the great-great-great-granddaughter of the novelist Sir Walter Scott, and on her death was his last direct descendant to live in Abbotsford. She was lady-in-waiting to Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, from 1959 to 2004.

Jean Jourden is a retired French cyclist. As an amateur he won the road race at the 1961 UCI Road World Championships. In 1965 he turned professional and competed until 1972. He won several minor races and rode the Tour de France in 1968 and 1969. His brother Henri was also a cyclist.

Jean Aurenche (1903–1992) was a French screenwriter. During his career, he wrote 80 films for directors such as René Clément, Bertrand Tavernier, Marcel Carné, Jean Delannoy and Claude Autant-Lara. He is often associated with the screenwriter Pierre Bost, with whom he had a fertile partnership from 1940 to 1975.

He was professional from 1946 to 1953 and had 14 victories which included two stage wins and wearing the yellow jersey as leader of the general classification in the Tour de France for three stages. Other wins included cyclo-cross champion of Luxembourg in 1946 and 1947 and road race champion of Luxembourg in 1947 and 1950.

Jean Laurent, born 30 December 1906 in Maisons-Alfort, died 14 May 1995, was a French international footballer. He played as a defender. He was the elder brother of Lucien Laurent, who was also an international footballer, and scored the first goal in the history of the Football World Cup.
