Pandiraj is an Indian film director and producer, who works in Tamil cinema. His debut film, Pasanga (2009), was commercially successful and won several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Screenplay. As of 2018, he has directed eight films and has introduced several actors and technicians in all major departments to the Tamil film industry.

Paul Soter is an American actor, writer, and director, and one of the members of the Broken Lizard comedy group. As a child, he lived in Sacramento, Anchorage, Phoenix, and Denver. He graduated from Colgate University and was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. During his time there, he was a member of the Charred Goosebeak troupe along with the members of Broken Lizard.

Clayton Jacobson is an Australian film director, writer, producer, actor, musician and editor. His debut feature film was Kenny. Kenny was released in 2006 in Australia to critical acclaim, winning a number of awards.

Anil Devgan was an Indian filmmaker, screenwriter and the son of Prem Prakash Devgan, and cousin brother of actor Ajay Devgan, and cousin brother-in-law of actress Kajol. He also tried his hand at directing, and directed his brother in two of his films: Raju Chacha and Blackmail. He died at the age of 51 due to cardiac arrest at night on 5 October 2020

Yasemin Şamdereli is a German actress, screenwriter and film director. Her film Almanya - Willkommen in Deutschland had its U.S. premiere at the Berlin and Beyond Film Festival in San Francisco on 20 October 2011.

Helmut Weiss was a German actor, screenwriter, and film director. He was notable for directing Tell the Truth the first film produced in what was to become the future West Germany after the Second World War. It was made in Hamburg in the British Zone of Occupation. Much of the film had already been made at the UFA studios in Berlin shortly before the arrival of the Red Army, but Weiss dramatically re-shot it. The film was significant in its use of outdoor locations in common with other post-war rubble films.

Bimal Roy was an Indian film director. He is particularly noted for his realistic and socialistic films such as Do Bigha Zamin, Parineeta, Biraj Bahu, Devdas, Madhumati, Sujata, Parakh and Bandini, making him an important director of Hindi cinema. Inspired by Italian neo-realistic cinema, he made Do Bigha Zamin after watching Vittorio De Sica's Bicycle Thieves (1948). His work is particularly known for his mise en scène which he employed to portray realism. He won a number of awards throughout his career, including eleven Filmfare Awards, two National Film Awards, and the International Prize of the Cannes Film Festival. Madhumati won 9 Filmfare Awards in 1958, a record held for 37 years.

Romain Gavras is a French-Greek filmmaker. He is best known for directing Jamie xx's video "Gosh" and Kanye West's video "No Church in the Wild". He also directed Justice's "Stress" and M.I.A.'s "Born Free", both controversial for their depiction of graphic violence.
