Tsuyoshi Makino was a Japanese author, critic, and social activist. He taught Japanese language at Kawai Juku in Sendai, Japan.
Frank Barnett
Frank Elliott Barnett was the 49th Governor of American Samoa from October 1, 1976, to May 27, 1977. Before becoming governor, he was a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent and a Tennessee attorney. He served as the first Lieutenant Governor of American Samoa for two years prior to his governorship. While Governor, a number of Samoans signed a petition accusing him of abusing local officials; others signed a counter-petition supporting him, and the charges were eventually dropped. This arose from his firing of Mere Betham, a native who had been serving as Samoan Director of Education, an action he defended as necessary to improve education on the island, but others decried as racist; Barnett reinstated Betham one week after dismissing her.

Clyde Wayne Mashore was an American Major League Baseball outfielder who played in 241 games over five seasons for the Cincinnati Reds and Montreal Expos of the National League. He batted and threw right-handed.

Dwight Jones
Dwight Elmo Jones was an American professional basketball player. A 6'10" forward/center, he was the leading scorer and rebounder on the 1972 Olympic team that lost the controversial gold medal game to the Soviet Union. Jones was ejected from the Gold Medal game after an altercation with a Soviet player. Later it was revealed that the Soviets intentionally provoked him as they saw him as the leader of the U.S. team and wanted to get him out.

Imre András Pozsgay was a Hungarian Communist politician who played a key role in Hungary's transition to democracy after 1988. He served as Minister of Culture (1976–1980), Minister of Education (1980–1982) and Minister of State (1988–1990). He was also a Member of Parliament from 1983 to 1994.
