Kristian John Ealey was a British actor and musician. He was best known for starring in the soap operas Brookside from 1998 to 2000 and Hollyoaks from 2000 to 2004. He died in his sleep at the age of 38 on 3 May 2016.

Cornelia Maria "Corry" Brokken was a Dutch singer, television presenter and jurist. In 1957, she won the second edition of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Net als toen", representing the Netherlands. Throughout her career, she scored a number of hits, sang in the popular Sleeswijk Revue with Snip en Snap, and had her own television show. She was also the presenter of the Eurovision Song Contest 1976, which was held in The Hague, Netherlands, following the victory of Teach-In the year before. She ended her career as a singer in 1973 to study law, after which she became a lawyer and ultimately a judge.

Jenny Diski FRSL was an English writer. She had a troubled childhood, but was taken in and mentored by the novelist Doris Lessing; she lived in Lessing's house for four years. Diski was educated at University College London, and worked as a teacher during the 1970s and early 1980s.

Victorino Chermont was a Brazilian sports journalist and television presenter. Chermont died in the crash of LaMia Airlines Flight 2933 on 28 November 2016 while covering the Associação Chapecoense de Futebol team for Fox Sports.

François Dupeyron was a French film director and screenwriter. He directed 17 films between 1977 and 2015. His film La Chambre des officiers was entered into the 2001 Cannes Film Festival.

Madeleine Sherwood was a Canadian actress of stage, film and television. She was widely known for her portrayals of Mae/Sister Woman and Miss Lucy in both the Broadway and film versions of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Sweet Bird of Youth. She starred or featured in 18 original Broadway productions including Arturo Ui, Do I Hear a Waltz? and The Crucible. In 1963 she won an Obie Award for Best Actress for her performance in Hey You, Light Man! Off-Broadway. However, she will always be remembered as Reverend Mother Placido to Sally Field's Sister Bertrille in The Flying Nun (1967–70).

Loris Francesco Capovilla was an Italian Roman Catholic prelate and a cardinal. At his death, he was the oldest living Roman Catholic bishop from Italy and the fourth oldest in the world. At the time of his elevation to the rank of cardinal in 2014, he was the oldest member of the College of Cardinals.

Tamerlan Kimovich Aguzarov was a Ossetian politician who was the head of North Ossetia-Alania from 2015 until his death in 2016.

Coral Rosemary Atkins was an English actress who opened and ran a home for disadvantaged children. She cared for 37 children over a period of 26 years.
