Muhammad Qutb, was an Islamist author, scholar and teacher who is best known as the younger brother of the Egyptian Islamist thinker Sayyid Qutb. After his brother was executed by the Egyptian government, Muhammad moved to Saudi Arabia, where he promoted his brother's ideas.

She was the first North African and Algerian to attain a gold record and was the first Algerian to appear on the front page of Paris Match. She received citations and awards from Tunisia, Libya and the Ministry of Culture of Algeria in recognition of her cultural contributions.

Raed Zeiter was a Palestinian individual with Jordanian citizenship who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers on 10 March 2014 at the Allenby Bridge border crossing between the Palestinian territories and Jordan. The Israeli soldiers later stated that he was a "terrorist", asserting that he had tried to snatch a weapon from a soldier and had also attacked them with a metal pole. The Israeli military's accounting for the incident was disputed both by a witness speaking to the international news media as well as representatives of the government of Jordan, among others. The event became an international incident, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu formally issuing a statement of regret.

Xu Lizhi was a Chinese poet and factory worker. Xu worked for Foxconn and attracted media attention after his suicide, after which his friends published his collection of poems.
