She received citations and awards from Tunisia, Libya and the Ministry of Culture of Algeria in recognition of her cultural contributions.
Raed Zeiter
Raed Zeiter was a Palestinian individual with Jordanian citizenship who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers on 10 March 2014 at the Allenby Bridge border crossing between the Palestinian territories and Jordan. The Israeli soldiers later stated that he was a "terrorist", asserting that he had tried to snatch a weapon from a soldier and had also attacked them with a metal pole. The Israeli military's accounting for the incident was disputed both by a witness speaking to the international news media as well as representatives of the government of Jordan, among others. The event became an international incident, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu formally issuing a statement of regret.
