Lai-Zhen Yu (1923-2004) is a former Chinese actress and Cantonese opera singer from Hong Kong. Yu is credited with over 140 films.

Kâni Karaca, born in Adana, Turkey, was a Turkish singer. He lost his eyesight at the age of 2 and memorized the Quran in elementary school. He came to Istanbul in 1950. He worked with Sadettin Heper, and learned religious and nonreligious music from him.

Nasiba Jahangir gizi Zeynalova was an Azerbaijani actress and People's Artist of Azerbaijan. She was famous mostly for her comedy roles.

Ahmed Kuftaro or Ahmad Kaftaru was the Grand Mufti of Syria, the highest officially appointed Sunni Muslim representative of the Fatwa-Administration in the Syrian Ministry of Auqaf in Syria. Kaftaro was a Sunni Muslim of the Naqshbandi Sufi order.

Yang Xinhai, also known as Yang Zhiya, and Yang Liu, was a Chinese serial killer who confessed to committing 67 murders and 23 rapes between 1999 and 2003, and was sentenced to death and executed for 67. He was dubbed the "Monster Killer" by the media. He is the most prolific known serial killer China has seen since the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949.
