Miguel Alfonso Del Toro Gastelum was a professional baseball pitcher. Born in Mexico, Del Toro pitched for the San Francisco Giants during the 1999 and 2000 seasons.

Ilse Kubaschewski (1907–2001) was a German film producer. She became one of the prominent figures in the post-war German film industry after setting up the distribution company Gloria Film in 1949.

Li Yuqin, sometimes referred to as the "Last Imperial Concubine" (末代皇娘), was the fourth wife of China's last emperor Puyi. She married Puyi when the latter was the nominal ruler of Manchukuo, a puppet state established by the Empire of Japan during the Second Sino-Japanese War.

Thomas Howard Stix was an American physicist. Stix performed seminal work in plasma physics and wrote the first mathematical treatment of the field in 1962's The Theory of Plasma Waves.

John Myrick Dawson was an American computational physicist and the father of plasma-based acceleration techniques. Dawson earned his degrees in physics from the University of Maryland, College Park: a B.S. in 1952 and Ph.D. in 1957. His thesis "Distortion of Atoms and Molecules in Dense Media" was prepared under the guidance of Zaka Slawsky.
