Eric Frank Russell was a British author best known for his science fiction novels and short stories. Much of his work was first published in the United States, in John W. Campbell's Astounding Science Fiction and other pulp magazines. Russell also wrote horror fiction for Weird Tales and non-fiction articles on Fortean topics. Up to 1955 several of his stories were published under pseudonyms, at least Duncan H. Munro and Niall(e) Wilde.

Vincent du Vigneaud was an American biochemist. He won the 1955 Nobel Prize in Chemistry "for his work on biochemically important sulphur compounds, especially for the first synthesis of a polypeptide hormone," a reference to his work on the cyclic peptide oxytocin.

John Selwyn Brooke Lloyd, Baron Selwyn-Lloyd,, known for most of his career as Selwyn Lloyd, was a British politician.

Nine Choucroun, born Fortunée Schecroun was a French biochemist. She was director of research at the Institut de biologie physico-chimique in Paris. She developed, inter alia, the electrophoresis.

John Daniel Lyng (help·info) was a Norwegian politician from the Conservative Party. He was Prime Minister of Norway from 28 August to 25 September 1963 in a coalition government consisting of the Conservative, Centre, Christian Democratic, and Liberal parties. It was the first government in 28 years that was not headed by the Labour Party.
