Henri Joseph Eugène Gouraud was a French general, best known for his leadership of the French Fourth Army at the end of the First World War. Following this, he became the first High Commissioner of the Levant (1919–1922) then Military governor of Paris (1923–1937).

Johannes Hendricus Jurres (1875—1946) was a Dutch painter who was compared to Rembrandt, Velazquez and Rubens during his lifetime. He was one of the most influential painters of the interwar period.

Wilhelm von Brincken, also known as Wilhelm L. von Brincken, William Vaughn, William von Brinken and William Vaughan, was a German diplomat and spy during World War I, who would go on to become an American character actor of the silent and sound film eras.

Albert Davis Prebble was an English badminton and tennis player and a prominent badminton official. He captained the England badminton team in their first international match against Ireland in 1903. He won the All England badminton men's doubles three times. He also won the badminton mixed doubles in 1909 with Dora Boothby, the same year that he reached the Wimbledon Championships mixed doubles final with the same partner.
