Frederick "Fred" Dozier Gardner, an American businessman and politician from St. Louis, Missouri, served as the 34th Governor of Missouri from 1917 to 1921.

Eduard Schmid was Lord Mayor of Munich from 1919 to 1924. He was the first SPD politician to hold this position.

Lorenzo Tio Jr. (1893–1933) was a master clarinetist from New Orleans, as were his father Lorenzo Tio Sr. (1867–1908) and uncle Louis "Papa" Tio (1862–1922). Their method of playing the instrument was seminal in the development of the jazz solo.
