Georges Alexandre Malkine was the only visual artist named in André Breton’s 1924 Surrealist Manifesto among those who, at the time of its publication, had “performed acts of absolute surrealism." The rest Breton named were for the most part writers, including Louis Aragon, Robert Desnos, and Benjamin Peret. Malkine's 1926 painting Nuit D'amour was the precursor of the lyrical abstract school of painting.

Thomas Michael Menino was an American politician who served as the 53rd mayor of Boston, Massachusetts from 1993 to 2014. He was the city's longest-serving mayor. Before becoming mayor, the Boston native was a member and President of the Boston City Council.

Ivan Monteiro de Barros Lins (1904-1975) was a Brazilian writer and intellectual. He was born in Belo Horizonte, the son of Edmundo Pereira Lins and Maria Leonor Monteiro de Barros Lins. He studied at Colégio Anglo-Americano and Colégio Arnaldo in Belo Horizonte, before moving to Rio de Janeiro in 1917, where he studied medicine. He was a major promoter of positivist philosophy in Brazil, and frequently wrote and lectured on the subject.
