Piotr Grzegorz Woźniak is a Polish public servant and geologist. Between 2005–2007 he served as Minister of Economy, between 2011–2013 he was Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Environment and Chief State Geologist, since 2016 he has been serving as President of the Management Board of the Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG).

Martin Heidenhain was a German anatomist born in Breslau. His father was physiologist Rudolf Heidenhain (1834-1937), and his mother, Fanny Volkmann, was the daughter of anatomist Alfred Wilhelm Volkmann (1800-1877).

Bożena Wojtkowska-Haracz is a Polish badminton player. She competed in women's doubles at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

Leberecht Maass was the Konteradmiral who commanded the German naval forces at the first Battle of Heligoland Bight. He lost his life when his flagship, the light cruiser SMS Cöln, was sunk by British battlecruisers commanded by Vice Admiral David Beatty.
