David Chan Yuk-cheung was born in Chaoyang, Guangdong, China. He was a prominent leader of the Baodiao movement in Hong Kong. The movement advocates Chinese sovereignty over the Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands in the Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands dispute between China and Japan.

Yang Lien-sheng who often wrote under the name L.S. Yang, was a Chinese-American sinologist and professor at Harvard University. He was the first full-time historian of China at Harvard and a prolific scholar specializing in China's economic history.

Yuan Shao, courtesy name Benchu (本初), was a warlord who lived in the late Eastern Han dynasty of China. He occupied the northern territories of China during the civil wars that occurred towards the end of the Han dynasty. He was also an elder half-brother of Yuan Shu, a warlord who controlled the Huai River region, though the two were not on good terms with each other.

Danny Lee Sau-yin is a Hong Kong actor, film producer, screenwriter, director, action director and presenter. He is known for frequently portraying Hong Kong police officers in films such as Law with Two Phases, The Killer and The Untold Story, as well as being a Shaw Brothers alumnus, having starred in martial arts and action movies produced by that studio such as Inframan.

Li Shiji, courtesy name Maogong, posthumously known as Duke Zhenwu of Ying, was a Chinese general who lived in the early Tang dynasty. His original family name was Xú, but he was later given the family name of the Tang imperial clan, Li, by Emperor Gaozu, the Tang dynasty's founding emperor. Later, during the reign of Emperor Gaozong, Li Shiji was known as Li Ji to avoid naming taboo because the personal name of Emperor Gaozong's predecessor, Emperor Taizong, had the same Chinese character "Shi". Li Shiji is also referred to as Xu Maogong and Xu Ji in the historical novels Shuo Tang and Sui Tang Yanyi.

Yi Siling is a Chinese female sport shooter specializing in 10 meter air rifle events, she is the gold medalists for 2012 Olympics, 2010 World Championships and 2010 Asian Games. Yi started shooting in 2007 and made her international debut in 2009. In 2010, she won the World Championships at the 10m air rifle and became the first person to qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympics. At the Olympics, she captured the first gold medal of the games by winning the 10 m air rifle event.

Zhang Qingli is a politician of the People's Republic of China. He currently serves as the first-ranked Vice-Chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). He was the Vice-Chairman and Secretary-General of the 12th National Committee of the CPPCC. Previously he was the Communist Party Chief of Tibet Autonomous Region from 2006 to 2011 and of Hebei Province from 2011 to 2013. He was a member of the 16th, 17th, and 18th Central Committees of the Communist Party of China.

Shi Zhiyong is a Chinese weightlifter. He became Olympic Champion during the 2004 Summer Olympics. He lifted a total of 325 kg, equalising the World record at that time.
