Yuan Shikai was a Chinese military and government official who rose to power during the late Qing dynasty, becoming the Emperor of the Empire of China (1915–1916). He tried to save the dynasty with a number of modernization projects including bureaucratic, fiscal, judicial, educational, and other reforms, despite playing a key part in the failure of the Hundred Days' Reform. He established the first modern army and a more efficient provincial government in North China in the last years of the Qing dynasty before the abdication of the Xuantong Emperor, the last monarch of the Qing dynasty, in 1912. Through negotiation, he became the first President of the Republic of China in 1912. This army and bureaucratic control were the foundation of his autocratic. He was frustrated in a short-lived attempt to restore hereditary monarchy in China, with himself as the Hongxian Emperor. His death shortly after his abdication led to the fragmentation of the Chinese political system and the end of the Beiyang government as China's central authority.

Tokiko Kato is a Japanese singer, composer, lyricist, actress and activist.

Wang Danfeng was a Chinese actress who was active mainly between the 1940s and the 1960s. She was one of the most influential actresses in Chinese cinema, and was named as one of the four great actresses in Hong Kong in 1949. She received the official recognition as a "movie star of New China" in 1962 and two Lifetime Achievement Awards in 2013 and 2017. Over a career spanning more than four decades, she starred in more than 60 films.

Hu Shuli is the founder and publisher of Caixin Media. She is also the professor of the School of Communication and Design at Sun Yat-sen University and the adjunct professor of the School of Journalism and Communication at Renmin University of China.

The Yongle Emperor — personal name Zhu Di — was the third Emperor of the Ming dynasty, reigning from 1402 to 1424.

Zheng Kai, also known as Ryan Zheng, is a Chinese actor and television personality. He graduated from Shanghai Theatre Academy Performance Institute in 2008. During university, he was roommates with famous actors: Du Jiang (杜江), Chen He (陈赫) and Zhang Dianlun (张殿伦). After graduating, he signed with Huayi Brothers Media Corporation. Zheng is best known for being a cast member in the variety show Keep Running. He is also known for starring in films So Young, My Lucky Star, Personal Tailor and Ex-Files. On 21 May 2020, he announced his marriage with his wife, Vivi Miao (苗苗). In October 2020, he welcomed his first daughter.

Samuel Hui Koon-kit, usually known as Sam Hui, is a Hong Kong musician, singer, songwriter and actor. He is credited with popularising Cantopop both via the infusion of Western-style music and his usage of vernacular Cantonese rather than written vernacular Chinese in biting lyrics that addressed contemporary problems and concerns. Hui is considered by some to be the first major superstar of Cantopop, known as the God of Song.

Lai Xiaomin was a Chinese business executive and senior economist who served as party chief and chairman of the board of China Huarong Asset Management from September 2012 to April 2018. He was sacked for graft on April 17, 2018.

Liu He is a Chinese economist and politician, a current member of the Politburo of the Chinese Communist Party and one of the Vice Premiers of the People's Republic of China. Liu is also the director of the Office serving the Central Financial and Economic Affairs Commission of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP); the latter headed by CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping. He was named vice-premier on 19 March 2018 and is heading the Financial Stability and Development Committee.

Zhang Jie, also known as Jason Zhang, is a Chinese pop singer. He made his television series debut in the reality singing competition My Show in 2004, which he won.
