Makoto Tanabe was the chairman of the former Japan Socialist Party, now known as the Social Democratic Party of Japan. He was elected to the position in 1991. Tanabe was from the right wing of the party and was a reformer. He served in the Japanese House of Representatives 11 times. Tanabe was a supporter of giving Japanese aide to deal with the lack of food in North Korea. He was also supportive of apologizing for Japan's behaviour during World War II and of giving reparations to those in Asian countries. He died in 2015.

Érika Cristiano dos Santos, commonly known as Érika, is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Corinthians and the Brazilian women's national team. Versatile Érika played as a forward for her clubs and Brazil's youth teams, but mainly as a central defender or "volante" for the senior national team. She was part of Brazil's silver medal-winning team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and also played at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, the 2012 London Olympics and the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Joan Pau Verdier was a French singer born in Périgueux, Dordogne, who performed in both Occitan and French. He was one of the main figures of Nòva chançon musical renewal wave during the 1970s.

Leopold III was King of the Belgians from 1934 until 1951. On the outbreak of World War II, Leopold tried to maintain Belgian neutrality, but after the German invasion in May 1940, he surrendered his country, earning him much hostility, both at home and abroad.

José María Bakero Escudero is a Spanish former professional footballer, and a manager. Having played mainly for Real Sociedad and Barcelona, he began his career as a forward but was converted into an attacking midfielder, who possessed passing and scoring ability and great leadership skills.

Tony deBrum was a Marshallese politician and government minister. He helped organize the Marshall Islands' independence from the United States and later served as Foreign Minister of the Marshall Islands from 1979 to 1987, from 2008 to 2009 and from 2014 to 2016. He was the Minister in Assistance to the President of Marshall Islands from 2012 to 2014. He was particularly outspoken on climate change, and participated in numerous conferences and demonstrations, including the People's Climate March in New York City in September 2014.

María Bernabéu Avomo is a Spanish judoka of Equatoguinean descent. She currently competes for Spain, which she represented at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Franz "Schnuckenack" Reinhardt was a gypsy jazz musician (violinist), composer and interpreter. He was considered the "great violin virtuoso of Sinti music." He was a German Sinto; his music was mostly published and categorized under the contemporary names gypsy jazz or "Musik deutscher Zigeuner". He "made this music accessible to a broad public" and made the most significant contribution to the presentation of gypsy music and jazz in Germany into a concert form. He was the pioneer of this style of music in Germany and directly or indirectly inspired many of the succeeding generation of gypsy jazz players in that country, as well as preserving on record a great many folkloric and gypsy compositions for future generations.
