Máximo Orlando Banguera Valdivieso, known as Máximo Banguera, is a goalkeeper who plays for Guayaquil City F.C. in the Liga PRO Ecuador and the Ecuador national team.

Ricardo Armando Patiño Aroca is an Ecuadorian politician who has served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador from 2010 until 2016, under the government of President Rafael Correa. Previously he was Minister of Finance and Minister of the Coast. He is one of the ideologists of The Citizens' Revolution who with Correa wanted to gradually introduce a democratic socialist government in Ecuador. On 4 March 2016, he was name as Defense Minister by President Correa.

Luis Osvaldo Hurtado Larrea is an Ecuadorian author and politician who served as President of Ecuador from May 24, 1981 to August 10, 1984.

León Roldós Aguilera is an Ecuadorian politician. He was born in Guayaquil in 1942. His mother died during his birth. He studied law at the state University of Guayaquil. He became secretary of the Municipality of Guayaquil under Mayor Assad Bucaram, of the populist party Concentración de Fuerzas Populares. He also had a private practice of law and consultancy mostly to the banking sector. He later became a professor in the University of Guayaquil and a dean of the law school of the Universidad Laica Vicente Rocafuerte.
