Scott Elliott Fahlman is a computer scientist and Professor Emeritus at Carnegie Mellon University's Language Technologies Institute and Computer Science Department. He is notable for early work on automated planning and scheduling in a blocks world, on semantic networks, on neural networks, on the programming languages Dylan, and Common Lisp, and he was one of the founders of Lucid Inc.. During the period when it was standardized, he was recognized as "the leader of Common Lisp." From 2006 to 2015, Fahlman was engaged in developing a knowledge base named Scone, based in part on his thesis work on the NETL Semantic Network.

Sheikh Nasser was the eldest son of the ruler or Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (1929–2020). He was seen as the main driving force behind "Silk City", one of Kuwait's mega projects with investments estimated at more than US$100 billion.

Diane Kurys is a French filmmaker and actress. She was born in Lyon, Rhône, France, the younger of two daughters born to Russian-Jewish parents who divorced when she was a child. Several of her films as director are semi-autobiographical.

Monsignor Júlio Renato Lancellotti is a Brazilian Catholic educator and priest, Monsignor and parish priest of the São Miguel Arcanjo Church in the Mooca neighborhood, in the city of São Paulo. In addition to the parish, he is also responsible for the masses held in the chapel of the Universidade São Judas Tadeu, located in the same neighborhood.

Machiko Satonaka is a Japanese manga artist. She made her professional debut in 1964 during her second year of high school with the one-shot Pia no Shōzō. She has since created nearly 500 manga in a variety of genres. Two of her most notable works are Ashita Kagayaku, which won the 1974 Kodansha Publishing Culture Award, and Karyūdo no Seiza, which won the 1982 Kodansha Manga Award. In addition to creating manga, Satonaka teaches at the Osaka University of Arts as the head of the Character Creative Arts Department and serves on the board of various manga-related organizations in Japan.

Franca Viola is an Italian woman who became famous in the 1960s in Italy for refusing a "rehabilitating marriage" to her rapist after being kidnapped, held hostage for more than a week, and raped numerous times. She is considered to be the first Italian woman who had been raped to publicly refuse to marry her rapist. Instead, she and her family successfully pursued prosecution of the rapist. The trial had a wide resonance in Italy, as Viola's behavior clashed with traditional social conventions in Southern Italy, whereby a woman would lose her honour if she did not marry the man to whom she had lost her virginity. Franca Viola became a symbol of the cultural progress and emancipation of women in post-war Italy.
