Dominique Manotti is a French crime writer and economic historian. She has written more than a dozen books, many of which have been translated. Among her many prizes is the 2011 Grand Prix de Littérature Policière, the most prestigious award in French crime fiction.

Ghadah Al-Samman is a Syrian writer, journalist and novelist born in Damascus in 1942 to a prominent and conservative Damascene family, she is remotely related to Nizar Qabbani the famous poet. Her father was Ahmed Al-Samman, a president of the Syrian University. She was deeply influenced by him since her mother died at a very young age.

Junko Hiramatsu, née: Ueno is a Japanese former competitive figure skater who is now a coach and International Skating Union (ISU) official. She is a five-time Japanese national champion and represented Japan twice at the Winter Olympics, in 1960 and 1964. She was the flag bearer for Japan at the 1960 Winter Olympics.
