The first "Austrian" was Freddy Quinn who represented Germany in 1956. Martin, singing in German "Wohin, kleines Pony?", placed last in the field of ten. He received three points in total - one from the Netherlands and two from the United Kingdom. He has been especially popular in southern Austria.
