Karl Theodor Freiherr von und zu Guttenberg
Karl Theodor Maria Georg Achaz Eberhardt Josef Freiherr von und zu Guttenberg was a German politician of the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CSU). He was parliamentary secretary of state in the Chancellor's Office in the government of Kurt Georg Kiesinger from 1967 until 1969, as well as the foreign policy spokesman of the CDU/CSU group in the Bundestag. Guttenberg was perceived as a hardline conservative anticommunist as well as a convinced proponent of European integration. His work was mostly within the field of foreign policy.

Caryl Chessman
Caryl Whittier Chessman was a convicted robber, kidnapper and rapist who was sentenced to death for a series of crimes committed in January 1948 in the Los Angeles area. Chessman was charged with 17 counts and convicted under a loosely interpreted "Little Lindbergh law" – later repealed, but not retroactively – that defined kidnapping as a capital offense under certain circumstances. His case attracted worldwide attention, and helped propel the movement to end the use of capital punishment in the state of California.

Simon Nora was a French official who served in several French cabinets and was the Inspecteur-general in the Ministry of Finance. He was asked by President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing to write on the impact of the new communications technology on France. The report, The Computerization of Society appeared in 1978 and became a best-seller in France. The report was one of the first to propose an information highway, one result of which was the Minitel program.

Maria Clara Machado
Maria Clara Machado was a Brazilian playwriter, who specialized on plays for children. She was born in 1921, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, and died in Rio de Janeiro in 2001, where she lived most of her life. Daughter of writer Aníbal Machado, she studied theater in Paris; on her return to Brazil, she founded the acting school O Tablado, in Rio de Janeiro. O Tablado was responsible for the formation of many Brazilian actors, and was the laboratory where she directed her own plays.
