Raymond Leblanc was a Belgian comic book publisher, film director and film producer, best known for publishing works such as The Adventures of Tintin by Hergé and Blake and Mortimer by Edgar P. Jacobs. He debuted, published, and promoted many of the most famous Franco-Belgian comics. Leblanc and his two partners created Le Lombard publishing, Tintin magazine, PubliArt advertising agency, and Belvision Studios.

Dorothy Poynton-Hill was an American diver who competed at the 1928, 1932 and 1936 Summer Olympics. She won the 10 m platform event in 1932 and 1936, while in the 3 m springboard she took a silver in 1928 and a bronze in 1936. In 1928, she became the youngest Olympian to win a medal and, in 1936, the first Olympic diver to win the 10 m platform twice.

Sam Edwards was an American actor. His most famous role on television was as banker Bill Anderson on Little House on the Prairie.

Richard Ward was a gravel-voiced African American actor on the stage, television, and in films, from 1949 until his death. Though best known through his TV appearances late in life, both in sitcoms and police procedurals, Ward also had an extensive film resume and a distinguished stage career, one of the highlights of the latter being his portrayal of Willy Loman in the 1972 production of Death of a Salesman, staged in Baltimore's Center Stage. Ward's own favorite among his theatrical vehicles was Ceremonies in Dark Old Men.

Noël Christopher Browne was an Irish politician who served as Minister for Health from 1948 to 1951 and Leader of the National Progressive Democrats from 1958 to 1963. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) from 1948 to 1954, 1957 to 1973 and 1977 to 1982. He was a Senator for the University of Dublin from 1973 to 1977.
