Aya Terakawa is a retired Japanese backstroke swimmer; she announced her retirement from competitions in early December 2013.
Elizabeth Beisel
Elizabeth Lyon Beisel is an American competition swimmer who specializes in backstroke and individual medley events. Beisel placed second in the 400m individual medley at the 2016 US Olympic Swimming Trials, qualifying for her third Olympic team. She has won a total of nine medals in major international competition, four gold, one silver, and four bronze spanning the Olympics, World Aquatics, and the Pan Pacific championships. Beisel competed in the 200-meter backstroke and 400-meter individual medley events at the 2008 Summer Olympics, placing fifth and fourth, respectively, in the world. She won the silver medal in the 400-meter individual medley and bronze in the 200-meter backstroke at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She competed on season 39 of Survivor, Island of the Idols and placed 9th.
Runa Imai
Runa Imai is a Japanese swimmer. She qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in the 200 meter individual medley. She swam the 11th best time in the heats and qualified for the semifinals, where she was eliminated with a 15th-place finish.
Connor Jaeger
Connor Lee Jaeger is a former American competition swimmer who specializes in distance freestyle events. Jaeger attended the University of Michigan where he was a three-time All-American. He was a member of the 2012 United States Olympic team, and placed sixth in the 1500 metre freestyle during the 2012 Summer Olympics. He currently holds the U.S. Open record in the 800 meter freestyle and the American record in the 1500 metre freestyle. Jaeger placed first at the 2016 US Olympic Swimming Trials in the 400 m Freestyle and was named to the 2016 US Men's Olympic Swimming Team. He won a Silver medal in the men's 1500 metre freestyle at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Taylor McKeown
Taylor McKeown is an Australian competitive swimmer. She won a gold medal in the 200 metre breaststroke at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and a silver medal at the 4 × 100 m medley relay during the 2016 Summer Olympics. McKeown also represented Australia in both the 100m breaststroke, and 200m breaststroke, qualifying fastest for the final and finishing in 5th in the 2016 Summer Olympics. She is a University of Sunshine Coast student.
Annie Lazor
Annie Lazor is an American competitive swimmer. In 2021, Lazor won the bronze medal in the women's 200 meter breaststroke event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. In 2019, she represented the United States at the 2019 Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru. She won the gold medal in the women's 100 meter breaststroke and women's 200 meter breaststroke events. She also won the gold medal in the women's 4 × 100 meter medley relay event.
Wang Shun
Wang Shun is a Chinese competitive swimmer. A versatile medley swimmer, he swam for China at the 2012 Summer Olympics and won a bronze medal in the 200 metre individual medley at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Oussama Mellouli
Oussama "Ous" Mellouli is a Tunisian swimmer who competes in the freestyle and medley events. He is a three-time Olympic medalist, is an African record holder, and trains with the USC Trojans team based at the University of Southern California, where he studied as a computer science undergraduate and swam collegiately.

Michelle Smith
Michelle Smith de Bruin is an Irish lawyer and retired Olympic swimmer who won gold in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, becoming Ireland's most successful Olympian to date. She was a triple gold medallist at the Atlanta Games, for the 400 m individual medley, 400 m freestyle and 200 m individual medley, and also won the bronze medal for the 200 m butterfly event: these events were marked by allegations of doping. Michelle Smith, now more commonly referred to by her married name, Michelle de Bruin, is currently a practising barrister. Michelle and Erik married in 1996.
