Björn Gustaf von Sydow was the speaker (talman) of the Riksdag, the Swedish parliament. He held this office following the 2002 election, when he succeeded Birgitta Dahl, until he was replaced on 2 October 2006. A member of the Swedish Social Democratic Party, he had been Minister of Defence in Göran Persson's government between 1997 and 2002, preceded by a short term as Minister of Trade.

Jim Taylor is an American producer and screenwriter who has often collaborated on projects with Alexander Payne. The two are business partners in the Santa Monica based Ad Hominem Enterprises, and are credited as co-writers of six films released between 1996 and 2007: Citizen Ruth (1996), Election (1999), Jurassic Park III , About Schmidt (2002), Sideways (2004), and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. His credits as a producer include films such as Cedar Rapids and The Descendants.

Hideo Ishikawa is a Japanese voice actor from Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. He works for Aoni Production.
