Robert Todd Lincoln was an American lawyer, businessman, and politician. He was the eldest child of President Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln, and the only one of their four children to live to adulthood. Robert Lincoln became a business lawyer and company president, and served as U.S. Secretary of War and U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

Robert Michael Gates is an American intelligence analyst, and university president who served as the 22nd United States secretary of defense from 2006 to 2011. He was originally appointed by President George W. Bush and was retained for service by President Barack Obama. Gates began his career serving as an officer in the United States Air Force but was quickly recruited by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Gates served for 26 years in the CIA and the National Security Council, and was Director of Central Intelligence under President George H. W. Bush. After leaving the CIA, Gates became president of Texas A&M University and was a member of several corporate boards. Gates served as a member of the Iraq Study Group, the bipartisan commission co-chaired by James A. Baker III and Lee H. Hamilton, that studied the lessons of the Iraq War.

Standing 2.31 m, he has drawn attention for his exceptional height. After moving to the United States in 2016 and attending high school in Geneva, Ohio, he currently attends and plays for Rochester University in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

Robert Bierenbaum is an American plastic surgeon who was convicted in October 2000 of murdering his estranged wife, Gail Katz-Bierenbaum. The murder occurred in their Manhattan apartment on July 7, 1985.

Robert Philip Hanssen is a former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) double agent who spied for Soviet and Russian intelligence services against the United States from 1979 to 2001. His espionage was described by the Department of Justice as "possibly the worst intelligence disaster in U.S. history." Hanssen is currently serving fifteen consecutive life sentences at ADX Florence, a federal supermax prison near Florence, Colorado.

Robert Ménard is a French politician and former journalist serving as Mayor of Béziers since 2014. A founder of the Paris-based international non-governmental organisation Reporters Without Borders, he was its general-secretary from 1985 to 2008.
