List of Famous people named Marlies

Marlies Raich is a retired Austrian World Cup alpine ski racer. She specializes in the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom. Schild won four Olympic medals, with silvers in the combined (2006) and slalom and a bronze in slalom (2006). She has seven World Championship medals and has won five World Cup season titles.

Marlies Göhr is a former East German track and field athlete, the winner of the 100 metres at the inaugural World Championships in 1983. She ranked in the top 10 of the 100 m world rankings for twelve straight years, ranking first in six of those years. During this time she won many medals as a sprinter at major international championships and set several world records.

Marlies Krämer is a feminist and politician. In 1996 she was a force in initiating the renaming of low-pressure areas in Germany, from formerly female names to a new naming system. Since 1998 these have been given female names one year and the following year male names are used instead.

Marlies Rostock is a former East German cross-country skier who competed from 1978 to 1980. She won a gold medal in the 4 × 5 km relay at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York.

Marie Louise Lydia Elisabeth "Marlies" Veldhuijzen van Zanten-Hyllner is a former Dutch politician of the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA). She was the State Secretary for Health, Welfare and Sport in the first Rutte cabinet, serving from 14 October 2010 to 5 November 2012.
