Jesús Silva Herzog was a Mexican economist and historian specialized in the Mexican Revolution and a member of The National College. He received the National Prize for Arts and Sciences in 1962. His son, former Mexican Secretary of Finance Jesús Silva Herzog Flores, and grandson, Jesús Silva Herzog Márquez, are also prominent men in Mexico's political and intellectual life.

Jesús Álvarez García was a Spanish journalist. He is the father of Jesús Álvarez Cervantes. He first worked in the Spanish military in 1950, and earned the rank of artillery lieutenant. Then shortly after that, he entered the field of communication, by working for Radio SEU and Radio Intercontinental. In 1952, he joined Radio Nacional de España, from where he did broadcasts for Latin America.
Jesús Emilio Jaramillo Monsalve
Blessed Jesús Emilio Jaramillo Monsalve was a Colombian Roman Catholic prelate who was a professed member of the Xaverian Missionaries of Yarumal and served as the Bishop of Arauca from 1984 until his assassination. Jaramillo was a staunch opponent of the E.L.N. and spoke out against their atrocities in the midst of conflict and a drug war. But this led to him being marked for death and he was killed not long after being kidnapped and tortured.
