Jan Ellegaard Magnussen is a Danish professional racing driver and a factory driver for General Motors. He has competed in Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART), NASCAR, the FIA Formula One World Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Jan Mikulicz-Radecki was an ethnic Polish surgeon who worked mainly in the German Empire. He was born on 16 May 1850 in Czerniowce in the Austrian Empire and died on 4 June 1905 in Breslau, German Empire. He was professor in Kraków, Wrocław, and Królewiec (Königsberg). He was the inventor of new operating techniques and tools, and is one of the pioneers of antiseptics and aseptic techniques. In Poland he is regarded as one of the founders of the Kraków school of surgery.

Jan Stallich (1907–1973) was a Czechoslovak cinematographer who worked in several European film industries including Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Spain as well as in his native country. He worked on over a hundred films during his career.

Jan Heemskerk Abrahamszoon was a Dutch politician who served as Chairman of the Council of Ministers from 1874 to 1877, and again from 1883 to 1888. His son, Theo Heemskerk also served as Chairman of the Council of Ministers.

Jan Schütte is a German film director and screenwriter. He has directed twelve films since 1982. His film The Farewell was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival. After graduating from high school, he studied literature, philosophy and art history in Tübingen, Zurich and Hamburg. From 1979 he worked as a television reporter for regional TV programs. His first feature film Drachenfutter premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 1987. Schütte was director of the German Film and Television Academy and is the director of the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.
